Fiona Boyes Plays “Baby Please Don't Go”

Baby Please Don't Go

Blues DNA runs deep in this song popularised by Big Joe Williams in the mid 1930’s but believed to have older folk origins. It’s something that fascinates me about the blues; something so old and familiar is rearranged and reinvented by each new musician and era. Almost every traditional blues player has recorded a version of this song, along with acts like AC/DC, Aerosmith and doo-wop group The Orioles! It’s no wonder Baby Please Don’t Go has been inducted into both the Blues and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
