WCLV Features Delibes: Sylvia and Coppelia

Delibes: Sylvia and Coppelia
We're a little late finding this out, but we wanted to thank WCLV (northeast Ohio's classical radio station since 1962) 104.9 Classcial FM for choosing our new release Delibes: Sylvia & Coppélia as one of their "Choice CDs of the Day" during the month of March! WCLV featured the new recording on March 7th, 16th, and 27th, and had this to say:

How wonderful to have new recordings of this music and by an American orchestra that specializes in accompanying live dancers on a real ballet stage! (For years we have been airing pre-digital-era performances from Europe.) Léo Delibes—along with Peter Tchaikovsky—led a 19-century ballet revolution, writing music for the dance stage that was symphonic in scope, and the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra and conductor Martin West are true to the twin attractions of these pieces. The disc offers generous helpings of Delibes' enchanting scores: the suite from Sylvia is over 40 minutes, and that from Coppélia is almost 33 minutes. You'll be hearing these performances of Sylvia's "Huntresses" and "Cortège de Bacchus" and Coppélia's "Doll Waltz" and "Czárdás" for years to come here on WCLV! -Bill O'Connell

So a hearty thank you to Mr. O'Connell for the kind words, and a sincere thanks to WCLV for the feature (and future playing time)!
